The Political Database of the Americas (PDBA) recently unveiled a new design for its website. In addition to a modern exterior, the improved design offers users enhanced navigation tools and increased search capabilities.
The Political Database of the Americas (PDBA) is a research project of the Center for Latin American Studies at Georgetown University’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service in collaboration with the Secretariat of Political Affairs of the Organization of American States (OAS) and other institutions in the region.
The PDBA mission remains to contribute to the study, promotion and strengthening of democracy in the hemisphere through the collection, systematization and dissemination of political data, constitutions and legal norms, statistics and exchange of information about political systems and institutions. The Database also comprises comparative studies and other resources relevant to the 35 countries of the region.
The PDBA seeks to provide the public with objective, accurate and timely political information about the Western Hemisphere, and currently serves more than 600,000 users per month. The PDBA is grateful to the Webmaster of Georgetown School of Foreign Service, Daniel Powers, for bringing the successful redesign to fruition. PDBA Director Beatriz Ramacciotti, as well as staff members, Kelci Lowe, Karen Bozicovich, and Megan Morrissey assisted in this effort.
